Chelsea, London, UK

A redesigned public space located on Kings Road, at Worlds End Estate. What was once a troubled space known for anti-social problems, the new plaza is designed to be accommodate varied uses including a performance space for the theatre and a venue for the weekly farmers market. A precisely crafted black granite ellipse emerges from the green granite field organising the space. Other works include a new lighting scheme, granite benches with timber seats, and new trees. Much consideration was given to the long-term flexibility of the space and how it was to be maintained.
